Pulau Sudong
Supposedly the richest marine life and clean beaches in Singapore, this is probably partly because the general public can’t access. An active live firing site for the military, be careful not to venture inside or too close.
Like most of the other Islands within Singapore waters, Pulau Sudong was once home to former islanders, Singaporeans who called the southern Islands their home, a place of their livelihood.
Pulau Sudong is no different, a place once home to roughly 150 Singaporeans, turned military live-firing zone. The Island is a 209-hectare coral island off the southern coast of Singapore. It was then enlarged through a land reclamation process during the late 1970s.
It is owned by the Singapore Government and is used for military purposes.
Since the early 1980s, Pulau Sudong, together with Pulau Senang and Pulau Pawai, have formed the Singapore Armed Forces southern islands military training area and live-firing zone.
There is also a runway located on the island itself.
