Malaysia Short Distance Boating Checkpoints
Puteri Harbour Marina (27–48NM)
Convenient access to the city, shopping, and a range of restaurants. Clearance available
Popular for: Short weekend visits, family-friendly marina village.
Sebana Cove Marina (16–47NM)
Peaceful although very ran down marina, riverine setting with a resort, golf course, and marina hotel. A favourite for boaters seeking a quieter experience.
Clearing available on request with advance notice.
Popular for: Overnight stays, natural surroundings, resort relaxation.
Tanjung Pengelih (10–40NM)
A Malaysian marine base and ferry terminal with an immigration post. While basic, it is efficient and very close to Changi.
Popular for: Boaters going to Johor Islands like Pulau Sibu, Quick turnaround trips, proximity to eastern Singapore.
Senibong Cove (14–58NM)
Small marina catering more to local traffic, but is beginning to be used a lot more by Singapore-based boaters to leave their boat
Clearance capabilities may require advance coordination.
Popular for: New housing area that has a lot of Singapore investment
Johor Yacht & Recreation Club (14–55NM)
Has been the most active marina in Johor area, although it is small, they have a club and organise events
Clearance capabilities may require advance coordination.
Popular for: City and location next to the land bridge connecting Malaysia and Singapore
Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal (30–60NM)
No marina berths currently; customs/immigration usually arranged via agent.

Indonesian Short Distance Boating Checkpoints
Nongsa Point Marina, Batam (14–38NM)
Singapore’s closest and most reliable Indonesian entry point. On-site CIQP (Customs, Immigration, Quarantine, Port Authority). English-speaking staff and a full-service marina make it the go-to for outbound Singapore vessels.
Popular for: Weekend trips, Riau Islands access, Resort Island visits, Golf
Nirup Island (8–23NM)
A new luxury development west of Batam offering sheltered berths and planned customs facilities. CIQP currently arranged by advance appointment via local agent. Currently not much on the island has been opened.
Popular for: Day or overnight trip from Singapore
Bintan Ferry Terminal (25–51NM)
Used mainly by commercial ferry passengers, there is a small marina section to do clearance arranged in advance. Close to resort areas and access point for Nikoi Island.
Popular for: Resort access, Resort Island visits, onwards travel into Bintan, Golf

Check Marina Hours: Not all ports offer 24-hour clearance. Contact ahead, especially during public holidays.
CIQP Requirements: Indonesia and Malaysia require pre-arrival Customs, Immigration, Quarantine, and Port Authority. Malaysia now requires you to use a immigration agent
Declare Your Route: If you’re heading to islands like Nikoi or Pulau Pangkil, you’ll need to mention that at clearance.
Marina Bookings: For weekends and public holidays, reserve your berth early—some are limited capacity.
