Superyachts

Although Singapore doesn’t have your typical superyacht playground of activities like the islands around Thailand or seclusion of Indonesia, Singapore plays an increasingly important role in the Southeast Asian superyacht landscape. Its location at the crossroads of major international shipping routes, combined with strong infrastructure and a mature marine services sector, makes it a practical stop for both visiting and regionally based superyachts.

Based on observed marina occupancy and service activity, Singapore is estimated to host 30 to 40 resident yachts between 24 and 30 metres and around 10 yachts over 40 metres at any given time. The largest economic contribution, however, comes from visiting superyachts in the 50 to 100 metre range.

An estimated four to five of these yachts transit through Singapore each month, typically staying one to three months, with individual stopovers generating between SGD 500,000 and over SGD 1 million in local expenditure, depending on scope and timing.

BERTHING

Their are 4 marinas in Singapore that have superyacht berths, Raffles Marina, ONE15 Marina, Marina at Keppel Bay and Republic of Singapore Yacht Club, whilst most options are alongside or ground anchors buoys, there are two notable 90m(+) large yacht berthing locations at the east wharf of Keppel Island and at the HarbourFront Cruise Centre. Both need to be booked through agents with experience of booking this type of berth. Superyachts coming to Singapore but not intending to stay can utilise the Eastern and Western Anchorages for suppliers and bunkering to be delivered.

PILOTAGE FOR VESSELS OVER 300gt

Superyachts over 300GT will require a pilot to board the vessel at one for anchorages as they arrive into Singapore Anchorage. For more details on pilotage, please click here.

Note: If you also require bunkering services, it is recommended that you conduct this when arriving or departing marinas to save on additional pilotage engagement as some bunkers will not be able to come along side in the marina.

Singapore also serves as a regional base for family offices, yacht management companies and operational staff.
