Kusu Kaper ver. 01 for 2021
Team Pro Sail Asia Kusu Kaper ver. 01 for 2021, the first Kusu trip for 2021 right on the spring tides of Lunar New Year. Friday down and Sunday back, best we can do for now and in reality, it’s a great little getaway but we don’t think Saturday actually happened!
The splendid NE Monsoon that we have been experiencing, pushed all four boats down to Kusu in good time, just enough to sneak in the hole in the wall before the bath tub went completely dry. The advantage of being able to pull the dagger board up and in you go!
Kusu Island is a lovely little dot of an island known for its Turtle legend and the main tourist attraction is the peace and quiet. The Temple is perhaps the nicest one we know and much to do with the location! Beautiful…
TriHarder made a detour over to One 15 Marina to drop some crew off and then missed the tide window for the Kusu basin. No worries, go sit on anchor in Lazarus Bay to roast some sausages and then make a night time entrance.
Ashore, more than enough food for a weeks campaign got mowed down over the next two days. Saturday magically disappeared out the bottom of a Sakae bottle!
We’ve always said, Kusu it’s best over three days as you get to do zip on one of the days unless you are TriHarder and have a troupe of people wanting to go sailing.
Sailing around the southern islands is a bit of a treat after constantly racing up and down the East Johore Straits. Although the islands have been conjoined in many cases, its still great to see more greenery. The other charm of Kusu is the fact that the last ferry back to Singapore is 6pm. After that, you share the island with only the Temple keepers.
With the NE in good effect, sleeping on the wings in a sleeping bag was absolute bliss! Throughout the weekend no one complained of being hot! That’s a first!
